Andrew Douglas Stories
Andrew Douglas has written two books so far, both aimed at entertaining his young sons whilst he works away on an oil rig! “My Daddy Works on an Oil Rig” and “When I Grow Up I Want to be a Police Officer” are both charming stories for all kinds of kids, but especially those ones whose parents work away from home.
My Daddy Works on an Oil Rig is a charming story of two young boys and their parents. Their daddy works away through a lot of the year because he works on an oil rig. Find out how they all keep one another company when daddy is away (and when he’s home!) and how the boys and their mummy keep in touch with their daddy whilst he’s away. This thoughtful book, written in a rhyming style, is good fun whilst also making children in a similar position feel less alone.
Andrew Douglas has written this book for any other children whose parents work away from home. He wanted his own children to know that he still thinks of them whilst he’s away, and hopes that other children (and parents!) are comforted by his story.
When I Grow Up I Want to Be a Police Officer is a story about a child’s dream to be a police officer! Chasing robbers on motorbikes, riding police horses, sharing burgers with police dogs and helping people across the road all feature in this fab story. It’s a great book for any little person who would love to help people by becoming a police officer.
